Super Slash Bros. Preview

Hey everyone. I'm just going to give you a preview of the characters from my Super Slash bros series .

I've got 3 that are inked and ready for coloring

Donkey Kong , Yoshi and Fox are ready to get colored .




I've also finished two Pencils : Meta Knight and Falco

And Finally 2 Works In Progress : King Dedede and Ness

Hope you all like ! By the way, i'll be posting most of them here and on my Furaffinity account ( listed in my links ) since some of the characters aren't allowed on the y! , so i'll let you all know when that occasion arrives.

Super "Slash" Brothers ! Kirby !

Hello Blog World !

Ok, unless you've living under a rock for the past YEAR ! you'll know that Nintendo's POWERHOUSE of a game is about to get release in less then a WEEK !! So i did the one thing i like and know how to do to express my exitement. I SLASH ! and out of it was born SUPER SLASH BROTHERS !

Of course i had to start with the lovable old puff ball, Kirby ( even thow technically i started with DK )

Truth be told, this WHOLE thing was never ment to be serious, they were just doodles i did one day when i had some artist block and a headache AND a bad day, lol. But when i look at them, i saw that they actually looked pretty good, so i decided to just go with it !

Next thing you know, i drew and inked about 4 drawings in about 3 hours ! And this one is one of them.

I Have a good few of these that i've finished, but my scanner access has been Extremly limited lately, which explains why things have been going a little slow, i admit, but since i had a small opportunity, i managed to scan this one at least.

The idea for Kirby in the series was to have him ridding on his warp star heading towards his next battle , Of course, this was a little tuff, i mean all i had to go on was that he's a puff ball and that he's pink.

Since the Rant, i've been doing a lot of thinking, and it allowed me to give the ok to people who wanted to critique my work, and i've been getting it, so i'm glad. It's encouraging me to improve, and above all focus on a few things, both when i'm drawing, and when i'm coloring as you can see .

I was going to leave it as is, because i was busy, but i decide to take my time and try a few things with the coloring, and it turned out splendidly !

KIRBY REALLY SUCKS !

The Pun for this one is Kirby's Swallowing ability and ranking in the previous Smash game. Kirby has the ability of copying others' moves by swallowing them and in Melee he became light and very disliked, so... he SUCKS !

P.S : i've done DK, Yoshi, Fox, Falco, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and hopefully i'll finish them before Brawl comes out, because if i don't, i'll be too busy playing that game to ! XD

Rant Rant Rant ...

Hey yall . Just want to get something out of my system, so i'll rant about it here. The first thing that's been bothering me is that i feel like such a second rate artist sometimes ( alot ! ) which is why i feel like such an amateur most of the time, even thow i'm been improving.
I love critique, because i want to improve, however, the good kind of critique, notebly from other artist, is hard to get. Some artist are nice enough to answer me when i comment them and my questions when i ask them, but i can't help the feeling that some artist out there just flat out ignore you.
To me, being treated like a second rate artist is even worse of an insult. If i'm an artist, just like you, don't treat me differently because i'm not as good as you, that's just cruel and pointless.
I'm 18, unexperienced, share a scanner with my family who aren't aware of what i draw most of the time, i only have a laptop, no tablet, no mouse, the oldest version of open canvas, a critirium ( pencil ), and two markers ( one 0.4 and one 0.8 ) and i'm short on cash most of the time, and i still try my best to provide some decent looking stuff, so a little respect and equal treatment would be appreciated ( yes, i said i have NO tablet, so my digital works have been done with nothing but my fingers ).
I'm not attacking or pointing fingers towards anybody, i'm just saying i'm nice, not blind and i DON'T FORGET, so if you want treat me like i'm inferior, don't treat me at all !

The other thing i guess that's bothering me is this.
Art doesn't just happen, there's a lot of time and effort that goes into it, and i don't think that some people really seem to understand that. Sure some people take more or less time to do things, but nevertheless time, energy, effort and imagination is necessary, not to mention the distractions, burdens, activities, etc of every day life that bother you most of the time. I can't seem to make people take that seriously, therefore, i feel like i " fail " as an artist.

Lastly, and this might offend some people, i think that some slash is way overdone ! There's way too much DBZ , Naruto, and even X-men slash out there (just to name a few ). I'm not a hypocrite, i admit that it's erotic, it's hot, it's cool, and that i myself will draw some when i'm asked to, but there's a lot of it already, it's kinda getting old.
Some might of noticed, but that's why i slash things that aren't or barely slashed, like F-zero characters, Mortal Kombat characters, yu-gi-oh! "Monsters" and NOT characters, etc.
That also explains my obssession with Original Characters .
They're fresh new characters that bring some welcome distractions from the overabondance of mainstream slash. Daemon, Max Darc, Tai, Drake, Skyboy, Keric, Darek, etc to name of few, i've grown to love. I even have more O.Cs then i can count but i put my Three favourite characters, Justin, Arden and Xy ahead of the pack, but a lot of times i feel like removing all of them from the face of the net because they get NO LOVE !

All of that feels like a vicious cycle that keeps repeating it self to me.
Just posting my thoughts somewhere, hope i get a response or comments from SOMEONE, otherwise what i think will be proved to be true, and that's going to be ugly ...

Anyway, if you were at least considerate enough to read my rant, thanks.

Character Sketch : Frank Underburger

Hey there everyone ! A couple of days ago, i took interest in a comic idea from one of my friends from the y!gallery known as Costa69, and as Franky KC on DA. His comic's idea is fantastic ! so i told him that even thow i'm busy most of the time, i'll try to help him in anyway i can.


I asked him what would his character look like so i could try to make a sketch of him , and that's how it turned out. This is just a sketch, but i think i got his character right. Check out his great idea on the DA page he made for it : http://toy-robot-comic.deviantart.com/ . The name is Toy Robot, and the main character is young Frank Underburger. Hope you like it as much as i do.

Also, don't be afraid to leave comments about what you think of the skecth after you've read the idea, because that would help.
